On February 24, 2022, a full-scale invasion of Ukraine began. Kherson was under occupation in a few days. Of course, there was no question of holding the festival in May 2022, as we had planned before. Filming in occupied Kherson for the "Film of the Week" competition was not possible, because those who filmed were put "in the basement". The holding of a mass event with the screening of "Film of the Year" films in Kherson could only be accompanied under the auspices of the Russian military, which was generally unacceptable to us as the organizers of the festival. Therefore, we decided to turn to our friends of the International Festival "Brukivka" in the city of Kamianets-Podilsk.

As a result, on May 3, 2022, when our entire team was under occupation, our films "Kinojem: a film of the year" were shown as part of this festival, for which we thank them very much!
